A Walk Through of the Pre-Trip Inspection

Semi-trucks and large commercial vehicles can be dangerous if operated by inexperienced drivers. They can also pose a hazard if they are not in perfect working condition. That’s why every truck driver is required to pass a Pre-Inspection Test before he or she can earn their Class A CDL. During the Pre-Trip Inspection Test, a DMV instructor will watch you as you walk around the truck and point out the major areas you will check before departing.

This video gives you a good look at what is included in the pre-trip inspection. However, the gentleman in the video is not an instructor. To learn the skills needed to pass all of the tests required to obtain your CDL, enroll in a CDL training program at a truck driving school in Portland. Once you complete your training program, you will be eligible for a number of truck driver jobs in-state and around the country.
