The Commercial Truck Inspection Process

During CDL training, trucking schools usually teach their students about the commercial truck inspection process. You may even receive more information in your employer’s truck driver training program. If you are still finishing or have already completed your CDL training in Portland, this video clip will serve as a good review of what you can expect from the commercial truck inspection process.

While regular cars are taxed at the pump, commercial trucks are taxed by how much they weigh and how far they go. If the driver doesn’t have the right paperwork during a safety inspection, he may be subject to a fine. Similarly, if the driver understates or overstates how much he is carrying in the truck or how far he is carrying it, he may receive a citation.
